Mozel Beene and her daughter Monika Beene have seen many changes in the 20 years of owning and operating Mozel Fashion Beauty Salon in the booming business section of Columbia Heights in D.C.

When gentrification threatened the community around her as new businesses, shops and the DC USA projects began replacing longtime ethnic establishments, she wondered what effect it would have on her business. Surprisingly, she says business has been better than ever.

Osmel Sousa finally got his groove back.
